December 2013:
The Lineup:
Pacioretty – Desharnais – Kane
Galchenyuk – Plekanec – Gallagher
Bourque – Eller – Andrighetto
Weise – White – Prust
Markov – Subban
Georges – Weaver
Beaulieu – Emelin
Price
Dubnyk
So December got worse! More injuries hit, including our newly acquired backup at some point. We ruined the holiday season with a 5-7-1 record, going to a .500 showing on the season (19-19-3). Some line shuffling will be in order and possibly some more roster tweaking via trade but this team must find solutions as it is heading in the opposite direction it wants to in the standing. With the promising acquisition of Kane this team thought it had the block it was missing.
December 7th:
In an effort to shake things up, trades needed to start happening even if it meant overpaying a little.
To Minnesota:
Devan Dubnyk, Darren Dietz, and the rights to Arturri Lehkonen
To Montreal:
Ilya Bryzgalov
Bryzgalov was the only backup I thought I had the assets to acquire.
December 27th:
It is not the dream winger the team hoped for but a move was done to strengthen the right wing and again shed some unwanted salary.
To Florida:
Douglas Murray and Michal Rosival
To Montreal:
Brad Boyes
I was debating making a move for Huberdeau but debated how legitimate that would be in real life. I may revisit that as the team struggles.
