On July 3, RF Ben Duncan set a record with 3 triples in Boston's 8 to 1 win over the visiting Philadelphia Centennials. He scored 3 timed and had an RBI. CF Sam Abbott, batting next after Duncan in the lineup, did not have a hit, but had 3 RBIs. John Taylor held Philadelphia to 4 hits. He has now won 6 games in a row and 8 of his last 9.

Also on July 3, Chicago had 20 hits, but lost, 11 to 10 in 11 innings at home to Pittsburg. CF Buck Freeman had a double and a triple on 4 hits for the Alleghenys. He scored 4 times and knocked in 2. 2B Bob Rene had 5 hits and 3 RBIs for Chicago.

No games on the 4th of July as it is a Sunday, this year.

On July 5, RF Ben Duncan injured his shoulder in a 9 to 6 loss against 1st place Louisville. He is expected to miss a month. CF Frank Griffin was also injured for Louisville and is going to be sidelined for about 2 weeks.

On July 9, John Kyle of Philadelphia struck out 12 New Haven Nutmegs to establish a new mark in Philadelphia's 10 to 7 win. He allowed 8 hits and did not walk anyone, but 11 Centennial errors helped the Nutmegs to score.

On July 12, 3B Dave Thompson had 4 hits, including 2 triples for Louisville in their 7 to 2 victory at Philadelphia. Thompson scored twice and had 3 RBIs. Former MVP Dave Bigelow was injured for Philadelphia and will miss 5 to 6 weeks with a swollen elbow. Before the game Manager "Stampy" Sampieri was let go and 3B Joe Carter was appointed the field boss.

On July 14, Pittsburg scored 5 times in the bottom of the 9th to beat New Haven, 15 to 14. 1B Adoniram Horlacher singled for the 4th time in the game with 2 outs to score the winning run.

On July 17, 2B Fred Franklin had 3 doubles in Boston's 6 to 2 win over Brooklyn. CF Sam Abbott hit his 3rd home run of the year to tie him with Bill Enright of New Haven for the League lead.

On July 21, Boston scored 3 times in the bottom of the 9th to beat Brooklyn, 3 to 2. With 2 outs and his team up 3 to 1, Brooklyn's CF Highball Perritano dropped Hezekiah Bailey's line drive to allow the winning runs to score. 2B Fred Franklin had 2 triples for Boston. The 2 drives gave him 14 triples n the season, tying the record he set last year playing for Providence. He still has 33 games to left to better the mark.

On July 31, Miller Bullock held Brooklyn to 3 hits in a 7 to 0 Louisville win. Bullock also had a double and a single at bat. It is Louisville's 7th win in a row and Bullock's 12th in a row. That is the longest winning streak by a pitcher ever in the Liberty League. Coming into this season, the 31-year-old Bullock had not had a winning record at any level of ball in his career. He is now 22-7.
