OOTP15 vs OOTP14
I've been playing OOTP15 for a week now. I decided to deviate from my usual pattern and picked the Philadelphia Phillies. Just played a full season, finishing 78-84 and trading Cole Hamels and Jonathan Papelbon for prospects. I also traded Cliff Lee back to the Indians for Trevor Bauer and prospects. Basically, I did everything that I could to begin the long-overdue rebuild of the Phils and along the way came up with a list of "pros" and "cons" for OOTP15 vs OOTP14.
Pros
Improved AI especially when it comes to trading
3-D ballpark (although it seems to run a bit slow, but maybe that's just my laptop)
Retired uniform numbers
Improved, updated rosters
The addition of the Venezuelan and Dominican Summer League teams
Cons
No ratings for players/coaches/GMs. I miss the rankings from "Excellent" to "Average". Maybe I'm in the minority, but that's just me.
Inferior Facegens. Last year they were better than they ever were. This year they have taken a step backwards.
No real team nicknames, although this is a minor criticism.
Way too many trades on the "average" rating. I had to change it to "very low".
Last year it was owners dying and being replaced by Junior. This year it is managers getting fired less than a year during their inaugural season. Granted, the Cubs and Reds stunk right out of the gate and were pretty much done by July, but I doubt that Rick Renteria and Bryan Price would be fired at the All-Star Break in real-life and to be replaced by Jerry Manuel and Rick Renteria, no less.
Thoughts?
