2019 All-Star Game
The Story of this All-Star game was the HR's. A beautiful day in Washington with the 10 MPH wind blowing out to RF.
Top 1st: Delaware: Grant Wright lead the game off with a solo-HR.
Bottom 3rd: MarVa: Ed Duke tied it up with a solo-HR of his own in the 3rd.
Bottom 4th: MarVa: Abraham Thomas hit a 2-run HR in the 4th to give the MarVa a 3-1 lead.
Bottom 5th: MarVa: Francisco Reyes singled up the middle scoring Dav McGill. MarVa leads 4-1.
Top 6th: Delaware: George Waller cuts the to 1, with a 2-run HR.
Top 8th: Delaware: Rocardo Florez singles up the middle, Grant Wright, who walked, scores the tying run.
Bottom 8th: MarVa: Jack Dooley gives the MarVa Conf the lead in the 8th with a double to right.
Top 9th: Delaware: Pinch-Hitter Pablo Freitas hits a 433ft 2-run HR to give the Delaware Conf the lead.
Just a fun game to watch. MarVa took the lead, but just couldn't hold on to it and the Delaware Conference continues to own the All-Star games. The lone home-town representative of the Washington Senators was Derek Campbell. Campbell played the whole game and went 1-3 with 2 walks.
Cavaliers:
Jeff Lewis 1-3, 1K
Roberto Perez: 0-3, 1K
Ed Duke 2-4, 2B, HR, 1 RBI, 1 Run
Miguel Contreras 2 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 3 K's
Arturo Ramirez 1 IP, 1 K
Dalton Whitaker (BS) 2/3 IP 1 H, 1 R, 1 K
Kent Davis - DNP
After Dalton Whitaker got roughed up in the All-Star game last season he struggled to regain his form, hopefully he will be able to put this behind him and move on.
