3 IPA RACES STILL IN DOUBT
Most of the IPA division leaders have safe leads going into the final weeks of the 2046 campaign... but three of them are still up in the air and in doubt... defending Pro Cup champion Sugar Valley (82-57) and Rocky Rapids (84-55) have solid leads in the Ruthlandian East and West Divisions... the Rattlers are nine games up on runner-up Eastshore (73-66) and the Snappers top Middlefield (76-63) and Forest City (76-63) by eight games in the RU West... over in the Tycobbian Union Hartsdale (88-51), Kenwood (83-56) and Red Bluff (83-56) look like winners... the Hellcats are 11 games ahead of second place Blue Lake (77-62) in the TU North... the Wildcats are nine games better than Arlon in the TU West... and the Red Sox have an eight-game edge over Tuckanarra (75-64) in the TU East.
In the Ruthlandian North the jury is still out... Valmara (86-53) surged past last year's division winner Glasco (85-54) with a great August, racking up a very impressive 21-8 record to take a one-game lead going into September... the Athletics went 18-11... it's a three-team battle in the RU South with Waleska (76-63) holding a slim one-game lead over second place Claxton (75-64)... the Diamonds are the reigning division champ... the Valka Blackhawks (72-67) are also still in contention, just four games out of first in third place... the Vipers rolled to an 18-11 mark in August, same as the Diamonds, while the Blackhawks fell back with a 14-15 record... going into last month Valka was tied with the Westerners for first place.
Only one race is still going in the Tycobbian Union, but it's a very good one with four clubs vying for the TU South flag... the Summerland Sunsets (86-53) are on top with a two-game edge over runner-up and defending division champion Southport Sun Sox (84-55), three up on the third place San Alejo Montaneros (83-56) and four better than the fast-closing Turon Typhoons (82-57)... for the month the Sunsets were 17-12, the Sun Sox 16-13, the Monties 14-15 and the Typhoons a sizzling 20-9... there are 15 games left on the schedule this year.
