It took a few tweaks here and there to get it right so I suggest you making a copy of your league and do all the trial runs in that one. Once you get it right. Use that info in your real league.
I usually gave a boost to the winner... I know in real life it seems like the opposite but I wanted to give the players incentive on participating and winning.
