I've got a guy like that right now. My first season with him, he did a great job coming in off the bench. Hit over .350 with 10 homers and I figured he was solid for third base the next season. So I traded away my start third baseman for prospects and put Paredes in the starting lineup.
The first year he got off to a horrible start. I mean real bad. He ended up the season with a .256 average, 20 homers and 81 RBIs, but he was under .200 by the start of June with just one homer.
So I think okay, it looks like he's ready to take off. This year his ratings have gone up to 7 contact, 8 power, 7 eye/discipline. Again, he gets off to a real cruddy start. But he still really doesn't have the numbers to match what I would hope for from those ratings.
