Playing strictly as an owner could be an interesting and fun experience, especially with some additions and enhancements.

I'm not discounting it. Just saying that it doesn't interest me and it could take away from my experience depending on how it were to be implemented. I just don't have any interest in things like vendor prices, hot dog stands and how many seats the ballpark has.
But I understand the appeal of it and don't disparage anyone who would find it fun or anyone who would like to see it added to the game.
