The
Phillies manager GOT THE BOOT!!! He really did.
Fred 'Cap' Clark managed the
Pirates for 25 years. At some point, i turned coaching back on(which allows coaching movement now), and he took over the
Phillies in 1926.
Clark took the
Phillies from 58-98 in 1925, to 4 straight NL Pennants, and a 1928 World Series.
Clark's contract was not renewed following the
Phillies loss to the
Yankees. Ironically,
Clark then joined the
Yankees as their new Hitting Coach!
The
Phillies have hired former pitcher
Eddie Cicotte to take over the helm.
Cicotte previously spent 5 years as the
Giants hitting coach.
Danny MacFayden developed into a very good pitcher. He tore his Rotator Cuff in the summer of 1930. After the World Series, which he watched, he suffered a set back which resulted in his retirement from the game. Like i do with certain impact players, i edited his injury to 500 days, giving him a chance to one day return.
