Game 1's
Game 1 - Annapolis Admirals @ Norfolk Cavaliers
The Admirals are throwing lefty Jimmy Carr, on the season Jimmy was 14-9 4.88 in 32 starts, and 2-2 5.40 against Norfolk. The Cavaliers counter with, one of their two aces, Miguel Contreras. Miguel posted a 16-4 2.35 during the season, but was 0-1 5.54 versus Annapolis.
The Cavaliers were 26-8 vs. Lefties on the season.
Our line-up is pretty solid.
1) Javier Janchez (CF)
2) Jeff Lewis (LF)
3) Roberto Perez (3B)
4) Derek Campbell (RF)
5) King Brock (DH)
6) Mike Ford (1B)
7) Ed Duke (C)
8) Jesus Rivera (2B)
9) Augusto Rodriquez (SS)
Bench:
Cody Johnson (UTL)
John Phillips (C)
Joe Payne (UTL)
Jose Renteria (C)
Byung-Hyun Chong (OF)
For the final roster spot, I elected to go with John Phillips, over Byran O'Neil (OF) and Derek Carter (MR). I am carrying 11 pitchers and using a 4 man rotation so I should be ok there. Having 3 catchers isn't ideal, but it gives me a little piece of mind.
I have Javier Janchez leading off. I was uncertain about who I should put here, but went with Janchez over King Brock due to speed. Didn't think it would be wise to move the power hitters. If Janchez doesn't get the job done in games 1 and 2 and Jesus Rivera is hitting, watch for a switch.

Norfolk leads series 1-0
W: Miguel Conteras (1-0)
L: Jimmy Carr (0-1)
HR: Ed Duke (1), Derek Campbell (1), Jesus Rivera (1)
POG: Derek Campbell > 3-5 3 runs, 4 rbi's, 2B, HR (1)
Attendance: 43,434
I am surprised at how our offense exploded today, with Augusto Rodriquez collecting 4 hits and Javier Janchez, Jeff Lewis, and Derek Campbell all getting 3. In all we had 19 hits, 10 for extra-bases. Hopefully this doesn't mean our offense hangs it up for the next game. Contreras went 7 innings, allowing 8 hits and 3 runs (2 ER) while striking out 8. Will Rose is a concern, he just didn't get the job done... well Javier will be leading off in game 2 as well. Worried that he wouldn't handle the lead-off spot, he proved me wrong.
Game 2: Luis Trevino vs Jose Matos
Delaware Conference:
Game 1 - Dover 4, New Castle 2 (Dover Leads 1-0)
Dover scored 3 in the bottom half of the 2nd, thnanks to a 2-run HR by San-pao Xin and solo-shot by Chris Thomas, all with 2 outs. That was all they needed as Jose Velasquez was in control of the game from the start, allowing 8 hits over 7.2 innings. Jack Clow picked up the save. Jack is trying to reach the Championship Round for the 5th time in 6 years, with his 3rd different team.
Oddly enough the Generals didn't add Any Kohl to the playoff roster even though he will be ready for game 2. Looking at their roster they decided to only carry 23. Not sure what is going on. Every other team has 25 players... if I was Dover, I don't think I would be keeping GM Andrew Copeland around much longer.
Game 2: Todd Eldridge vs Jerry Copeland
