Philadelphia 2 @ Calgary 3
This game got off to a wild start with a fight between Ladislov Smid and the FLyer's Luke Schenn 8 seconds into the first. After that we shut down their first line wall, keeping Giroux off the board and with a -1 rating. Monahan and Baertschi each had 1G,1A.

Calgary 3 @ Vancouver 4
Tough loss to the rival Canucks. We tied the game early in the third, but Daniel Sedin put in his third of the night with just over 2 minutes left.

Oct. 27
Calgary 0 @ San Jose 4
Ortio in for the second of back to backs. Not a lot of positives in this game. Way too many give aways on our part, and the Sharks beat us in all aspects of the game.

Detroit 5 @ Calgary 2
D.Jones a healthy scratch tonight and MacGrattan in on the 4th line. We went into the third tied 2-2, and Pavel Datsyuk scored a hat trick in the period to bury us. We actually played a better game, giving away the puck less, but we did not capitalize on the Red Wings mistakes enough.

Nov. 2
Toronto 1 @ Calgary 1
Jones back in the line up, and we brought up youngster Emile Poirier to rejuvenate things. We played well tonight, but we need to work on our special teams. The Leafs took 16 minutes of penalties to our zero and we failed to get more than one powerplay goal.

The Flames are now 5-6-1, sitting last in the Pacific, and 13th of 14 in the west. We need to turn things around on the upcoming road trip.

News from around the league:
Logan Couture (SJ) out 4 weeks with knee sprain.
Niklas Kronwall (DET) out 3 weeks with a strained hamstring.
Dustin Brown (LAK) out 2 week with a strained back.
Barrett Jackman (STL) out 2 weeks with herniated disc.

Curiously, Florida has listed centre Vincent Trocheck as day-to-day with a ruptured collateral ligament, but he could miss 11 months.

League leaders:
Phil Kessel leads the league with 21 pts in 15 games.
Daniel Sedin has 13 goals in 15 games.
