Las Vegas Aces (56-18) @ Chicago Cubs (33-40)

The Cubbies have an intriguing mix of youngsters and veterans. On offense they will look for Anthony Rizzo to lead the way. Other notable names in their lineup include veterans Derek Jeter, A.J. Pierzynski, Omar Infante and Torii Hunter, alongside youngsters Brett Gardner and Adam Eaton. The rotation features one of the very best young arm in Stephen Strasburg. Edison Volquez and Bartolo Colon are solid veteran contributors. The bullpen looks like a very solid unit with closer Tom Wilhelmsen and setup-men Sergio Santos and Joba Charmberlain. The Cubs have a 97.666 million dollar payroll, which ranks 14th in the league. The team shouldn’t expect much help coming up through the system, as they rank 28th in the league with 0 players in the top 100. The preseason predictions are pretty good for the Cubs, as they are expected to finish with a 84-78 record, which should be good for 2nd place in the division. The Cubs have struggled for most of the first 2 months. Things are finally coming together for them it seems, as they are 13-5 since June 1st.
