Historical Games, Superstar Players Not Signing Contracts..

Started a 2003 game, simmed a few seasons, and I've noticed a certain trend, a TON of superstar players don't get signed to deals in the off-season.

A 29 year old Alfonso Soriano coming off a year where he hit .334, 43 HRs and 156 RBIs doesn't get signed...

A 28 year old Carlos Beltran. .350 Average, 46 HRs and 127 RBIs

Same with guys like Eric Chavez, Troy Glaus, Frank Thomas, Carlos Lee, Mike Lowell, etc.

In reality, with such low asking prices now after FA has come and passed, teams would have been lining up at the door to sign these guys. It's happened to me in a past test sim, but I thought it was just a one time thing. I now see this happens with every historical game I play.

Anyone know why it's like this? Really takes the realism and replay-ability out of doing a historical game.
