My only thought is that your pitchers might be terrible, and are giving up such hard contact off the walls that your fielders aren't being punished for not fielding those uncatchable rockets? That's a complete guess, I'm not sure how OOTP's ZR/EFF for players deals with uncatchable balls, whereas I'm sure team DEF is impacted by it.

I think thats the explanation. I had some injuries and was left with serviceable pitchers, and a bunch of also-rans and had the worst bullpen in the majors.
