I believe Jeff said that if you use the trade deadline rosters then the salaries are all out of whack and teams are forced to send guys to the AHL to get under the cap. It makes sense...many NHL teams are currently over the cap after mid-season trades. Pittsburgh is currently the worst (~$6M over the cap) so it makes sense that they have so many guys in the AHL in your game.
