Are you doing what I sometimes do, which is I will grab a guy like this, prevent him forceably from retiring if I must, and keep trotting him out there to achieve his milestone even if it costs me a bunch of games?

I will sometimes do that as well, and even if I've missed it and they've been retired for a year will try to bring them back for those extra few hits, wins, whatever. But I'm staying hands off on this one.
Someone actually retired in 1974 with 297 wins, he's 52 now but still has 8/10 control, 5 movement and 7 stamina. If I had a club I'd bring both of these guys on for one last shot.
