Someone emailed me recently with a question, and it seemed similar to what's being discussed in this thread. Am I correct in thinking that recalc is the cause of him seeing ratings change from one year to the next in an historical replay while they don't change like that if you play from 2013 forward?
And if so, what's his best option for keeping the ratings from changing like that?
He asked me:

I recently started a historic season (started with 1961 for no apparent reason). So I have to admit I've done some statistical manipulation and used the Ratings Editor to bump up the ratings of some players. My question is...I've noticed the ratings change after each season. Yet when I have played just a regular game starting with the 2013 season and I adjust the ratings.....they stay the same from year to year. So how do I get it to stay the same each year when I'm playing in 1961, 62, 63 etc? Do you think there's an option I've chosen (or not chosen) that causes the ratings to vary year to year as opposed to staying the same?
