Yep. You can import whatever historical teams you want into a league.

You can also import schedules in XML format, but that isn't necessarily the easiest thing to set up - on the bright side, there may already be a schedule that is (or is close enough to) what you want. IIRC, importing historical teams also imports that team's managerial tendencies. I'm not sure if you can adjust them, however.

If a "series" is the 3 or 4 game sets that make up a season, then no, those aren't tracked. But each season is, and you can create an almanac of each season (or have the game do it automatically) for historical persual.

I believe it's all doable (the managers are the thing I'm unsure of), but it's not always easy. OOTP is a very deep program.
