In the USBA we have been selecting our own All Stars for years. We put together a ballot (the last two seasons Hammer and DelgadoDawg have been instrumental in helping with this) that lists all the starters for each team at each position and statistics to help voters decide. The ballot usually does not include anyone who has not had sufficient playing time.

The owners vote on starters for each league. You are allowed to vote for your own team's players. I have seen leagues that prohibit this but it does not make sense to me. I have seen very few instances, if any, of blatant ballot box stuffing.

A nice addition is that the defending league champions get to pick the rosters. To increase the level of excitement for all owners, we use the MLB rule of having at least one representative from every team. It makes for a challenging effort on the part of each manager!

I then sim the game and attempt to get all the players in the game. It's a lot of fun and worth the extra effort. With Pierre's new utility, the effort should be easier!

Hope this helps!
