2017 Golden Arm Award
Dundee Selected Delaware Conference's Top Pitcher: This past season Anthony Dundee put on quite a show in the Delaware Conference. In 34 starts he posted a 21-10 record for Georgetown to capture the 2017 Golden Arm Award.
In 34 starts and 256.2 innings, Dundee yielded 228 hits, holding the opposition to a .236 average. He chalked up 157 strikeouts and posted a 2.52 ERA.
This is Dundee's second time winning the Golden Arm award, he was the winner of the inaugural award in 2013 with the Milford Clippers. After the 2013 season he signed a 7 year deal with the Sixteens. The past 2 seasons were injury plagued for Dundee, which he started only a combined 17 games.
Contreras Picked Best MarVa Conference Pitcher: The Golden Arm Award for 2017 has been presented and the MarVa Conference winner is Miguel Contreras of Norfolk.
"It's always nice to receive an award like this," said Contreras. "I just hope I can improve on my performance next year and be in the running again," the Cavaliers star told reporters.
Contreras excelled with an impressive 23-2 record in 31 starts. In 223.2 innings he yielded 157 hits and 30 walks, while striking out 223 and compiling a fine 1.61 ERA.
Miguel is the games premier pitcher. This marks the 4th straight time he has won the award, and his 3rd straight pitcher triple crown. He is only 29 years old, so we he should have a few more good years left on him.
