Grew up in honolulu without a major league team. So after doing a school bio report on a sports hero( Pete Rose ) I adopted the reds as my team.( this was 1980-81)
Sadly I'd found them to be on the slide down. When I saw that Rose had been traded to the Phillies, they became number two.
