The Big Cat

Thanks to Expos 1969-2004 for the nice photos on this page of one of my FAVORITE PLAYERS, ANDRES "THE BIG CAT GALARRAGA.
I was really sad to see Mike Scioscia give him very limited opportunites late in the 2004 season with the Angels and then manager, Willie Randolph give him almost no opportunity at all to make the Mets during Spring Training 2005, forcing Andres into retirement one home run short of 400.
He was one of the best first basemen of his era with 399 HR, over 2300 hits, over 1400 RBI, and a .288 career batting average, although with 2002 strikeouts, (#3 all-time at retirement, # 6 today) you'd be justified to say "The Cat" whiffed much too often.
