On the Funkturm-Hallen on Berlin, German based Poland hot prospect Dariusz Michalczewski 16-0-0 (14) makes a a step up on competition and faces two times former title challenger David Vedder 15-12-3 (3). Vedder had fought 12 rounds against Virgil Hill and Eric Harding and seems to be a good test for Michalczewski.

Michalczewski started the fight with an aggressive style and put Vedder into trouble with a hard uppercut followed by a right cross, Vedder attemped to cover up but Dariusz connected a violent body shot that sent Vedder to the canvas. Vedder got up at seven and managed to end the round.
Michalczewski continued working the body on the second round and on the third one Vedder attmeped to trade punches with the Poland but was clearly outpunched. From rounds four to six Vedder attmeped to box from the outside and move but he was caught several times by Michalczewski’s uppercuts when he reach the inside.
On the seventh round Michalczewski connected another shot to the ribs and Vedder put one knee on the canvas for an eight count. After Vedder got up Michalczewski continued easily dominating the fight for the remainder seconds of the round. On round eight Vedder looked totally spent and Michalczewski hit him as his own. Finally on the ninth round Michalczewski wobbled Vedder with a cross to the chin and this time he didn’t let the American escape and connected punch after punch until the referee stopped the uneven fight. At the time of the stoppage Michalczewski was leading on all three scorecards by 80-70 twice and 79-71.
