Game 126
Norfolk 2, Richmond 5
Joe Parker (12-6) would of had a good game if he could of kept the ball in the stadium, giving up 4 HR's over 7.1 innings. Overall he got touched up for 9 hits and 5 runs. The Cav's were lead by Jesus Rivera, who went 3-4 and Mauro Candelaria who added 2-hits. The only Cav's runs came in the 5th thanks to a 2-run HR by Augusto Rodriquez (6).

Transaction News: Pablo Freitas was activated from the DL and sent down to AAA to get some swings in. After 6 weeks, it made sense for another rehab assignment. Janchez will get some more swings as well. When its time for Pablo to come back, I will have a tough decision to make.

Game 127
Baltimore 2, Norfolk 3
Miguel Contreras (19-2) had another great game, going 8 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 7. Dalton Whitaker pitched the 9th for the save (39). The Cav's offense was lead by Jesus Rivera who had 2 hits and Roberto Perez who hit a solo-HR (29).

Game 128
Baltimore 7, Norfolk 14
Jose Matos (21-3) had a nice outing going 8 innings, striking out 7, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs. Jamie King got roughed up for 3 runs in 1 inning of work. The offense had 12 hits and 10 walks, leaving 10 men on base. Kent Davis lead the way with 3 hits and Augusto Rodriquez who had 2 hits and 6 RBI, including a HR (7). Javier Janchez hit a grand-slam (3) and Derek Campbell also added a HR (27).

Game 129
Baltimore 2, Norfolk 1
Ron Reilly (10-9) had a great game, but the offense couldn't get any support, as he went 8 innings, givin gup 2 runs on 7 hits. Augusto Rodriquez had a 3-3 day, and King Brock and Roberto Perez each added 2 hits.

Game 130
Baltimore 4, Norfolk 8
Sun Ho (13-5) had a pretty good outing, going 7 innings, allowing 6 hits and 4 runs, while walking and striking out 4. He was touched up for 3 HR's. The offense had 13 hits lead by Roberto Perez who had 3 hits, all doubles and 2 RBI. Kent Davis and Augusto Rodriquez each had 2 hits and 2 RBI's, and Jose Escamilla had a perfect 2-2 day.

Game 131
Washington 7, Norfolk 4
Joe Parker (12-7) was touched up for 11 hits, 3 HR's, and gave up 7 runs while striking out 7. The offense was held to 6 hits by 6 different players. Jose Escamilla hit a solo-HR (5) and Javier Janchez and Mauro Candelaria each doubled.

Around the League:
  • Salisbury Ports Owner, Tae-wan Park, made it public that he was not happy with 3-day old Manager Frank Shafer's reaction during a post-game press conference, following the Ports 20th straight loss. After the blow-up the Ports went on to win their next game, and 3 out of 5. Shafer is now 3-5 as the Ports Manager.
  • Miguel Ruiz suffered a set-back that will keep the Ocean City Tourists LF'er off the field for 1-2 more weeks. On the season Ruiz is hitting .329-35-108.

Players of the Week:
Delaware: Bruce Walker, Milford Clippers, 12-24 2 HR's 5 RBI, 12 Runs
MarVa: Bruce Robertson, Richmond Cardinals, 13-26 4 HR's, 8 RBI's

Power Rankings:
1) Norfolk Cavaliers (130.2)
2) Annapolis Admirals (117.2)
3) Wilmington Iron Pigs (108.8)
4) Ocean City Tourists (107.3)
5) Dover Generals (105.2)

GM Notes: We followed off a strong week, with an up and down week, seems to be our story heading into the last month... My toughest decision I will have will be what to do with my pitching. Our AAA team is fighting for a play-off spot and their 2nd championship, so I don't want to strip them of all their players. But it would be nice to get Griffith, Otero and Ramirez a start or two before the seasons end... With Joe Parker giving up HR's and Sun Ho posting a 5+ ERA over the past 3 months, I do have a glaring weakness in the rotation. With 3 days to go before Sept 1, I may need to bring up someone to qualify them for the post season... I will need to make room for Pablo Freitas on the roster and get him in the lineup. We are just a better team with him in the lineup...

Abraham Thomas of the Senators hit a HR in the first game of our series, so I felt inclined to see how well he has hit us this year. And its not pretty. .327-9-19 in 13 games!! We have struck him out 15 times at least.
