2043 IPA DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES - Game Two

SERIES EVEN, V'S RAP RATTLERS 9-5
In game two of the Ruthlandian Division Series at the Jailhouse in Volusia, the Vigilantes rapped Sugar Valley 9-5 to even it up at one game each... leading 5-4, the V's put two runs on the scoreboard in both the fifth and sixth frames to pull away... Charlie Farmer smacked a two-run homer and drive in three runs for Volusia... they collected 11 hits... LF Derek Jorstad (.286), CF Cazzie Carvalho (.375), 2B Carl Kendall (.400) and 3B Charlie Farmer (.500) scored two runs apiece... Carvalho, Kendall and C Tank Tarkanian (.286) all had two hits apiece... starter Leandos Dizon (1-0) got credit for the win, giving up only two earned runs and four hits in seven innings with 4 Ks and one walk.
Losing pitcher Jeremy Blanchard (0-1) was wild and wooly with six bases on balls... Volusia tagged him hard for seven runs and nine hits in just four-plus innings... 2B Richie Fry (.375) went 3-for-4 with three doubles and four RBIs... and 1B James Milton (.125) had a solo homer for the Rattlers.
VALMARA'S REEDER HALTS CRUSHERS 3-1
In the second game of the Ruthlandian Division Series at Crystal Lake, 23-game winner Zak Reeder halted Crystal Lake 3-1 to give the Valmara Vipers a 2-0 lead... in a sharp, route-going performance Reeder (1-0) struck out six, walked two and yielded only one run on seven hits... Reeder got the best of Dave McCauley (0-1), who allowed three runs on 11 hits, while also pitching a complete game.
SS Antos Dacko (.375) had two hits and two RBIs to spark the Vipers at the plate... LF Lech Nowakowski (.500) went 1-2 with two walks and two runs scored... 2B Jim Henley (.625) led the Crushers with two hits and an RBI.

SF's MURPHY TOO TOUGH, TOPS ARLON 6-2 IN GAME 2
In game number two at Derby Downs in Arlon, Jay Murphy was on top of this game as he hurled defending Pro Cup champ South Fork to its second straight victory in the Tycobbian Division Series... Murphy (1-0) held Arlon to two runs and five hits in a 6-2 victory... the Stallions got homers from Scotty O'Sullivan and Glenn O'Reilly... O'Sullivan (.429) got a solo shot in the second and O'Reilly (.333) was good for three runs in the top of the fourth putting South Fork in front 4-0... O'Sullivan went 3-for-4 and scored three runs.
The Stallions picked up nine hits off losing pitcher Pat Stuyvesant (0-1), good for six runs... he fanned eight batters and walked two in a complete game... both Arlon scores came off of homers by RF Mark Cameron (.286) and 3B Jason Dixon (.200).
HAWKS WIN AGAIN, MACK MASTERS SOX 6-0
Tony Mack made it look easy in the second game of the TU Division Series with Southport, this year's pick to win the Pro Cup... Mack (1-0) blanked them for eight innings on eight hits, struck out seven and walked two for the 6-0 win and gave the Hawks a two-nothing edge in the best-of-seven series... reliever Jeff Owens worked a runless ninth for North Hills.
Loser Johnny Swanson (0-1) was blistered for 11 hits and six runs, while going the distance... RF Tennis Magee (.400) had two hits and three RBIs to lead the Hawks at bat... CF Kris Anastas (.625) added 3-for-3 and drove in a run... and 1B Oscar Pendleton (.364) was 2-for-4 with a run scored and one driven in... RF Chris Jones (.500) had three hits in defeat for Southport.
