Steam's had plenty of problems with customer service, that's no secret. I still love it, myself.
But that doesn't matter. OOTP is never going to Steam-exclusive (or so we've been told), so this shouldn't even be an argument. Buy on Steam if you want, buy direct if you want. Done.
