The reshuffling begins as the Expos dealt SP Marty Bystrom and SS Alfredo Griffin to the Royals in exchange for C Lance Parrish.

This was a two part deal though as Lance Parrish didn't stick around long, going with Joe Cowley, Dick Schofield, Bob Kipper, and Wayne Tolleson to the Rangers in exchange for C Bob Brenly, SS Dale Sveum, and RF Dion James.

Since Gary Carter will be departing as a free agent Brenly will fill our need for a catcher, Sveum will be our new shortstop, and James our right fielder. We also have the added bonus of saving $1 million on the two deals.

Also departing is Don Aase, Steve Bedrosian, Steve Sax, and Dave Henderson.
