So I'm beginning the free agent period in my fictional game. I am controlling an expansion team and the upcoming season will be the 2nd season for the team. There is an international FA I want to sign, but he wants like 17 mil per for 8 years. I was able to negotiate down to 13 mil per for 6 years. He will be turning 27 in a few days. My question is, should I spend the money even though I won't compete for a few years or hold off until some of my draft picks are ready? I will have #1 overall pick again this year.
