for arbitration players, i would actually recommend you use the arbitration page, and enter $0 as a way to remove the player.
the results between that and releasing are the same, however players don't seem to hold a grudge is you just offer $0 through arbitration, if case you want to sign them later when they don't get anything in FA by the end of the off-season
