Email from Miguel
As soon as Miguel Contreras joined our team we opened up the dialog on getting him here longer term. The negotiations were easy, maybe even too easy, but then we received this letter from him:
SP Miguel Contreras: Contract Signed: I'm not easily impressed, but I have to admit that you made the best pitch you could under the circumstances. I'm very honored to accept your offer of $59,100,000 and will be sticking around another 5 years.
Miguel Contreras
Miguel left a lot of money on the table, but he will be with us here in Norfolk till 2020, till Miguel is 34 years old. He will be a welcome addition to our rotation, and a nice replacement to Sweetapple. Got him long term something we were unable to do with Sweetapple.
He even took a pay cut for next season to help keep us under budget, this is going to be a nice relationship.
