I would like to request that any mod who sees this thread does NOT close it.
It's gotten pretty far off-track, and tempers have flared, but there's plenty of good messages within that should be read by everyone. If we can resist the urge to continue the argument from here on out, I believe that we can still have a good discussion on this very important topic.
