IPA GOLD BAT WINNERS ANNOUNCED
The IPA announced its Golden Bat winners for 2042 today. The best batter in the Ruthlandian Union was Nioka Inkamara of the Wynnamac Sundowners, while the Tycobbian honor went to Rikky Van Dalen of the Cape Coral Hurricanes. It was the second time Inkamara has received the award and the first time for Van Dalen.

Ruthlandian Union Golden Bat:
1. Nioka Inkamara (Wynnamac): .329 BA, 49 HR, 141 RBI, 117 runs
Inkamara topped the IPA with 141 RBIs and was second in the RU with 49 HRs... the 25-year-old star RF paced the Sundowners to the Ruthlandian East Divsion title... his five-year career average is .309.

2. Bobby Gamble (Sugar Valley): .312 BA, 28 HR, 112 RBI, 120 runs, 26 SB
Gamble finished first in the RU with 120 runs and sparked his Rattlers to the third spot in the standings behind Wynnamac and Beechwood... the 29-year-old RF has already collected four Golden Bats in his exceptional career.

3. Nicky Farrugia (St. John): .338 BA, 35 HR, 102 RBI, 104 runs
Farrugia, age 33, led the Crusaders to the RU South pennant.. Farrugia was sixth in the batting race with a .338 average.

Tycobbian Union Golden Bat
1. Rikky Van Dalen (Cape Coral): .371 BA, 31 HR, 103 RBI, 125 runs, 19 SB
superstar Van Dalen was the number one hitter in the IPA with a .371 BA and 222 hits (tied with Gerry Sives of Colfax and John Velasco of Fairfax)... he led the IPA with 125 runs and came in fifth in the TU with 123 runs batted in... the Hurricanes wound up third in the TU South standings... Van Dalen has played in the league for seven seasons and boasts a .310 lifetime BA.

2. John Velasco (Fairfax): .349 BA, 22 HR, 118 RBI, 109 runs, 10 SB
the Frogs came in a close second to Hartsdale in the TU North race... the 36-year-old second baseman carries a .296 BA with 326 HRs for his 17 years in the IPA, all with Fairfax.

3. Adam Thurgood (North Hills): .344 BA, 40 HR, 119 RBI, 98 runs
Thurgood, age 31, led his Hawks to a third-place finish this year... the outfielder was fourth in the TU with a .344 average, third with 215 hits and ninth with 119 RBIs.
