2042 IPA PRO CUP FINALS - Game Two at Colfax

SORENSEN SHACKLES COLFAX 5-3, SF UP BY 2
For the second straight day South Fork held the Colfax attack in check with a 5-3 victory... portsider Chris Sorensen (4-1/3.00) came through for the Stallions and put them up two games to none in the IPA Pro Cup Finals... Sorensen was tagged for nine hits, but only two earned runs... he fanned six batters and walked two in a complete game... Sorensen (.200) also doubled in a pair of runs.

South Fork collected 11 hits with RF Rick Carlton (.276) and LF Kyle Gottwald (.429) getting three hits each... the Stallions scored all their runs in the first five frames, running up a 5-0 margin... SS Jess Wilkerson (.365), 3B Elton Jacoby (.246) and C Paul Richardson (.269) drove in the other runs... Wilkerson got his with his fourth homer... LF Chet Penn (.314) popped a two-run shot to lead the Blasters... it was his fourth of the playoffs... Bobby Porter (2-2/5.40) suffered the loss... South Fork got five runs and 10 hits off of him in eight innings, but only three were earned... Colfax defense has hurt them in both losses.

Colfax will try to get back into the series, but they will have to do it in the unfriendly confines of Jock Ewing Stadium in South Fork, the site of the next three games.
