It shouldn't be. Sure, the initial transferring of files from your computer to your flash drive is going to take a while, but after that, you won't be moving the files off of the flash drive; you can just set up OOTP to use the directories on the flash drive instead of the default directories, and as long as the flash drive is plugged into the computer, saving will take the same amount of time it always has (maybe a little slower, due to it being an external drive, but not much).
