2042 IPA LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES - Game Six
Tycobbian Union
YOUNGER TOO GOOD, HELLCATS EVEN SERIES 5-1
Hartsdale got a super performance at home at Pioneer Park from 23-year-old Gil Younger (3-0/1.03), who throttled South Fork on three hits en route to a 5-1 victory... Younger, a 20-game winner, had four strikeouts and walked three, while going the distance... Younger has been brilliant in the postseason with a perfect 3-0 record and a ridiculously low 1.03 ERA... now the Tycobbian LCS is knotted at three games each with the finale set for Hartsdale tomorrow afternoon... both clubs will have their top pitchers going... it will be 25-game winner Jay Murphy for the Stallions and 19-game winner Freddie Whitaker for the Hellcats going at it.
Younger (.222) even supplied the firepower with a RBI single in the big four-run uprising in the last of the second... C Frank Penn (.324) and CF Darrell Nesbitt (.244) also drove in runs in the inning... Younger also batted in a run in the fifth inning when he grounded out to short and scored Jesse Jenkins (.308) from third... that put the Hellcats in front 5-0... the Stallions got their only score in the eighth when CF Scotty O'Sullivan tripled and scored on pinchhitter Kyle Gottwald's (.300) base hit.
Big Murph McAlister (0-2/5.47) went down to defeat... he was tagged for five runs on six hits in seven innings.
