2042 IPA LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES - Game Five

SORENSEN STOPS HELLCATS 3-2, SOUTH FORK UP 3-2
Seventh-ranked South Fork is on the brink of beating third-ranked Hartsdale in the Tycobbian League Championship Series... Chris Sorensen stopped the Hellcats 3-2 in game five to give the Stallions a three-two edge in the best-of-seven set... Sorensen also doubled in the winning run in the bottom of the sixth... in a complete game Sorensen (3-1/3.27) fanned five and walked two, while giving up two runs on eight hits... Perry Givens (2-2/5.14), the Hellcat starter, was the loser... he allowed three runs on six hits in six innings.
Maury Yates (.194) had two RBIs for South Fork... he put them ahead 2-0 in the third frame... Hartsdale tied it up on RBIs by C Frank Penn (.343) and 3B Jesse Jenkins (.306) in the top of the fourth.
Yates led the Stallions at the plate with two hits and two RBIs, while Jenkins had a pair of hits for the Hellcats.
The rest of the series will be played at Pioneer Park in Hartsdale. Game six is tomorrow afternoon with game seven, if needed, slated for Thursday.
