also look at ERA+ and OPS+ , just as an indicator your league has not moved away from what your mind thinks is a good value. with some of the bugs around in the minors i had some year where the average ERA was over 6, so those were useful... even my majors now seem to have moved to being a pitcher league so i have to be happy with lower hitting numbers...
