The player you imported you said is a real 2013 MLer? Did you run a rescout on him when you imported him?
As far as bringing players over from another league you can save the league you want to bring him over from as a template and load that template into your league but if that league has players that are in your current league you will have tons of duplicates. I am still deleting players from the 2013 quickstart when I used that as a template so i could have full minor leaguers
