Hit Puts Davis in Record Book:
Baseball has a new all-time single-season hit leader. In a game at Caviliers Ballpark Kent Davis broke the record set previously by Steve Williams. The crowd went wild when he banged out hit number 227. Asked by reporters, if it was tough to break the record, Davis replied, "Yeah, getting hits is tough, but there's no pressure build-up. I figured I would get this hit. This wasn't pressure. Pressure is the playoffs. Breaking this record was just fun... just another day at the ballpark."
Kent Davis walked in the 1st.
To date Davis has chalked up a .345 average with 1 home run, driven in 67 runs and scored 117 times.
