TU STARS TOP RU STARS AGAIN
For the fourth time in the last five years the Tycobbian All-Stars dumped the Ruthlandian Stars 6-2 for the league's 28th triumph in 42 contests... in a game played at the Hawk's Nest in North Hills, Tycobbia's pitching held Ruthlandia to just six hits with the win going to Jay Murphy (South Fork), who retired all six batters he faced in the third and fourth frames... SS Craig Glennon (Southport) homered and singled to capture the game's Most Valuable Player honor... Ruthlandia was led by 2B Kelly Hardison (Forest City) and CF Alejandro Dominguez (Middlefield) with a pair of hits apiece... Hardison collected the RU Stars' only homer, while Dominguez walloped two doubles... Scotty Price (Sligo) was whacked for two runs and three hits in the third and caught the loss.
3B Jerry Culpepper (Bayview) put the TU Stars up 2-0 in the third with a two-run double... Craig Glennon (Southport) made it 3-0 in the fifth with a roundtripper... Ruthlandia chopped the lead to 3-1 on a solo shot by Kelly Hardison (Forest City)... C Filipe Zamora (San Alejo), C Corky DiNozzo (Kenwood) and SS Sam Essex (Ginza) finished the RU Stars off with three RBIs in the sixth, upping the score to 6-1... RF Bobby Gamble (Sugar Valley) got Ruthlandia's final run when he scored from third on a wild pitch in the sixth.
