Washington 2, Norfolk 4 (11 Innings)
Don Sweetapple (ND) pitched 8 solid innings, giving up 1 run on 5 hits to continue his hot streak, but Dalton Whitaker blew the save (3) in the 9th to send it to extra. Will Rose (6-3) pitched a perfect 11th to claim the win. The offense was led by Mauro Candelaria and Derek Campbell each with two hits, but the hero was Jose Escamilla hitting a 2-run walk-off HR in the 11th (5).

Carlos Mateo (12-5) went 8 innings, giving up 3 hits and 1 run to get the win, and Dalton Whitaker redeemed himself pitching the a scoreless 9th for the save (35). The offense was lead by Kent Davis, Mauro Candelaria and Jose Escamilla each with 2 hits. Escamilla had 2 doubles.

Jose Matos (14-5) went 7 shut-out innings, giving up 3 hits, before handing the ball over to Will Rose who threw the final 2 innings. The offense was lead by Jose Rodriquez with 3-hits and Pablo Freitas with 2 hits, including a 2-run blast (19). Jacob Chaney also added 2 hits.

Ellicott City 4, Norfolk 1
Karl Armstrong (13-6) was a tough luck loser going 7.1 innings allowing 3 runs, only 1 ER, thanks to a couple of errors, on 4 hits. Ron Harris pitched the final 2/3 giving up an unearned run. Mauro Candelaria lead the offense stroking 2 of the teams 5 hits. Derek Camplbell and Pat Shelton each added doubles.
Injury News: Jose Escamilla, our gold glove caliber short-stop, was removed from the game after a collision. He will be out 2-weeks with a sprainted ankle. Derek Campbell will be moved from DH to SS and Gilberto Ramos will take over the DH role.

Javier Uberuaga (10-9) went 7 innings giving up 10 hits and 2 runs to take home the win, as Ron Harris and Dalton Whitaker pitched the final 2 innings. Pablo Freitas lead the offense going 3-5 with 2 runs and 2 RBI, including his 20th HR and 23rd stolen base. Mauro Candelaria, Derek Campbell and Gilberto Ramos each added 2 hits. Derek Campbell (14) and Jesus Rivera (6) each added solo-HRs.

GM Thoughts/Notes: We are running away with the division now, but I wouldn't consider us "champs" just yet. Still a lot of ball left, but we have handled our division opponents pretty easily... Injuries are what scare me, as long as we can stay healthy we should be able to make a run at the title... Again not much to talk about, Derek Campbell is hitting the ball great since his return, Mauro Candelaria is warming up, Javier U has looked good in his past few starts and Jose Matos has been pretty dominant. Hard to see a weakness right now.
