I'm currently working on a Pilots custom card set and trying to be a little more complete than your standard Jim Bouton/Mike Hegan/John Kennedy variety. I've done my share of colorizing and digital manipulation, but real is always the best. And Merkle's collection is...not sure if I should go with "amazing" or "un-effing-believable", here. This might not be the thread to ask, but the posting of the Brewer pic in reply to a Baseball Birthdays post of mine kind of led me there.
As the 1969 NY-P pitcher of the year, Jerry was without doubt in camp with the team in the spring of 1970, while they were still Pilots. We all know Bill Parsons also never pitched for the Pilots, yet Topps Vault released a picture of him in Pilots gear earlier this year.
Even in 1969, many of the Pilots minor leaguers were photographed with (at least) Seattle caps. Hence this exceedingly poor Jerry Bell head shot from the local upstate New York newspapers of the day.

Have you seen the 52 Pilots cards set that
simarc has made, with the 1969 Topps template ? If not, follow this link

You won't find Jerry Bell in that set, because there are only the players who made an appearance with the team in 1969.
