have you tried hitting the jump to current date button on the schedule screen? I know it sounds crazy but I used to have a guy with the same problem, what was happening was I was running the sim without going to the schedule screen so the screen never moved with the date so the user must move it manually, now I hit that button before I create the file and he has not had a problem since.
also I would like to point out that the in-game OOOL uses version numbers on it's league files so it is easy as pie to check if you have the latest file, just check version numbers.
it boggles my mind that more leagues don't use the in-game oool thing. but I guess I shouldn't be surprised, even the on-line grand champion league doesn't use it, if ootp won't use it why would anybody else? and that's why make even less sense from a marketing perspective.
