HAWKS ACE OWENS WILL MISS A START
The North Hills Hawks got better news than they thought... ace Jeff Owens only has a sore back and will miss a start or two according to the club's doctors... it could have been worse... his loss for a game is critical, but it's not fatal... if the Hawks had lost him for the rest of the postseason, it's doubtful they would have go far in the playoffs without him... it would have been a double whammy... Tony Mack, who led the Hawks' staff during the regular season with a 23-9 record and a 2.69 ERA, was lost for the season with an elbow injury.
