Zyberian's Uni
I have done this in the past not quite like this though and since I will have a LOT of free time now (don't ask not injured again but out of work). I am going full bore into this uni.
The setup pits historical AND RFG's (realistic setting) in one ongoing uni. I started off with 64 fighters in each of the historical 8 weight classes and fought them 12 times the worst 32 fighters out of that group were eliminated from title contention. The 32 remaining were in a single elimination tourney for the unified title and to determine the top 12 in the championship group (by rank). To get a stack of 32 contenders a new group of 32 combined fighters went 12 bouts and then a double elimination tourney to decide the top 16. (Basically 16 fighters are knocked out of the title picture from both the journeyman and contender roles every two years). Pretty much the same idea I have been working on for a while 12 fights they are prime 6 fights is pre prime and anywhere from 18 to 30 fights before going post prime.
I have split it into two main groups 0-6 and 7-15 meaning the 7-15's cannot pad their records against the 0-6 group and balance things out in the long run.
So it starts off with 32 fighters going to the rookie group and they fight 6x (3x a year) and then all move up to journeyman and pre prime where they fight 6 rounds instead of four then if they make it 8 rounds in contender and a minimum of 8 in the championship group.
I also moved up the fighters from say cruiserweight to heavyweight and one each with the exception of strawweight where they moved up to bantam.
Had some interesting results so far (I am at the welterweight champions and have 4 to go) and will start posting the results here along with some notable historical fighters in each division so everyone here can follow along.
