Current Week: 3-2 (21-12 - GB, 1st (+5))
Next Week: 2 vs Wilmington Iron Pigs, 4 vs Washington Senators
Power Ranking: 3

Game 29
Annapolis 5, Norfolk 6
Karl Armstrong (4-2) got the week started off right, going 7 innings, allowing 4 runs (1 ER / his error) on 6 hits, while striking out 5. Surprisingly he only walked 1 (he did hit 2 people though)! Dalton Whitaker pitched the 9th for the save (8). Mauro Candelaria is starting to hit the ball, which is a good sign for the offense. He went 2-3 with 2 runs, Gilberto Ramos added 2 hits, and Julio Romero hit a 2-run HR (3). Roberto Perez was pulled in the 1st inning, with what looked like a leg injury, hopefully nothing serious.
Game 30
Annapolis 3, Norfolk 8
Don Sweetapple (3-2) finally got some run support, going 8.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 7. The offense had a 6-run 6th which turned out to be the deciding factor. Kent Davis, Pablo Freitas and Jose Escamilla each had 2 hits. Ron Alder went 1-1 with 2 walks, and scored 2 runs, Dent Davis added 2 runs as well. Jose Rodriquez and Mauro Candelaria each had 2-RBI.
Game 31
Norfolk 6, Chesapeake 3 (10 Innings)
Carlos Mateo (ND) threw the ball well over 7.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits, but took home the ND as the game went into extra's. Dalton Whitaker pitched the final 2 innings and took the win (3-1). Roberto Perez returned to the line-up after missing a game, he went 0-4. Pablo Freitas lead the offense going 2-4 with 2 runs and 2 RBI, including a 2-run triple in the 10th. Ron Alder added a hit and 2 RBI. The Cavaliers had 3 triples.
Game 32
Norfolk 4, Chesapeake 5
Tsuneo Sato (2-2) went 6.2 innings, giving up 5 runs on 6 hits and 8 walks! The offense was lead by Yasutoki Ine, who went 3-4 with a run and an RBI. Kent Davis added 2 hits and Roberto Perez added 2 RBI. The Cav's scored 4 in the 9th, leaving Roberto Perez stranded at 2nd to end the game.
Game 33
Norfolk 2, Chesapeake 8
Sun Ho (2-2) left the game due to injury after 3 innings, givin gup 2 runs on 3 hits, Ivan Pineda, who has been throwing so well lately, got hit around over 2 innings giving up 6 hits and 3 runs. The offense was held in check, getting only 7 hits, with 3-players getting 2 each. Jose Rodriquez 2-4 with a run, Pablo Freitas 2-3 a HR (4) a run and 2-RBI and Jacob Chaney 2-4.
Injury: Sun Ho was injured in removed in the 4th inning. He will be placed on the 15-day DL, till we get an offical diagnosis. 25-year old Cooper Mananghaya, a lefty, has been brought up to take Sun's spot. Cooper is a top pitching prospect and this will be a rehearsal to see if we can move one of our other pitchers. On the season Cooper is 4-2 5.66 in 6 starts for AAA Yokohama. His major leauge debut is impending.
Lineup Changes: The struggling Ron Alder has been moved to back-up 1B/LF. He is hitting only .197 this season and has more K's than hits (27/26). Gilberto Ramos and Jose Rodriquez will be seeing more playing time. Hopefully a little break will get Alder back on track.
Players of the Week:
Delaware: Thomas Cooper, Milford Clippers, 11-21 2 HR, 8 RBI
MarVa: Ed Grant, Baltimore Barons, 9-16 4 HR, 5 RBI
Power Rankings:

Notable Injuries:
none
GM Thoughts/Notes: We are doing great this season, but we do have a few spots that we need to look at. Our starting staff is 'great', but watching them I see how inconsistent they are. Drives me crazy. I don't mind a bad start every now and again, but these guys just seem to be all over the place. But its hard to complain with one of the best staffs around. I have shopped a few of these guys around and haven't had any luck. I'd like to free up some space and get Sweetapple locked up, otherwise he will be moved before the deadline. Play for the title this year or play for the title over the next few? Trade him and get something in return or lose him for nothing? My only hope is that he would take the player option, but that being about 8 million less than what the market would bear, I am not holding my breath... Ron Alder is getting pulled from the starting lineup. Ramos will get more time. Alder who lead the team in hitting last year .296, just can't seem to get anything going. He is losing trade value daily too, but he is a nice asset to have around... If Yas Ine starts hitting the ball Tomas Reyes may get dealt. It'd be a nice drop in salary, and free up some signing space. Might be the best route to go... All in all we are putting together a pretty good start, which is great, and we have a few players that are off to slow starts that will make us even better as they warm up. We are in a good spot right now.
