I have sucesfully installed StatsLab14 on my godaddy account but have some troubles when it comes to loading files. If I just tell SL to do a full SQL file load it gets a connection dropped by the server error. If I go to the SQL files tab and try to load more than one file using the checkboxes I get dropped by godaddy as well (even with tiny files).

I am able to load all of my SQL files as long as I split the files to under 2.5MB and load them individually by clicking on the load link next to the file name. While this works, at least one of my files needs to be split into 30+ smaller files which takes way too much time.

In an effort to get around this I've installed a virtual linux box with apache any mysqlserver on it. I'm able to run SL locally with no problems so my plan for each sim (three times a week) is to...

1. Create a backup of my DB on godaddy using myphpadmin

2. Download the DB backup.

3. Load the backup (it's a SQL dump) into the DB on my virtual machine at home.

4. Udpate the DB using my local SL installation.

5. Run a SQL dump on the virutal machine database.

6. Upload the dump to the directory where godaddy stores my DB archives.

7. Use the database restore tool on godaddy to restore the dump file I created.

Sadly, I feel this will end up being a much faster process than splitting the files and loading them individually, but obviously it's not ideal

So my questions for anyone that's using godaddy to host their SL install are:

1. Have you had troubles loading more than one file at a time from the Admin/SQL Files tab? If so, how did you get around it?

2. Have you had troubles being limited by godaddy either by a timeout for how long it takes to load a dump file or by the size of your SQL files? If so, how did you get around it?

3. If anyone has a better plan that what I've outlined as my workaround, I'd love to hear it. I tried increases the max size and post size in my php5.ini file but that didn't seem to help any. My hope is that there's some sort of server setting that I can tweak that will just allow SL14 to work as designed where I can just click on the load files button.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
