Opening Day: Blue Jays squeak past the Indians 4-3
Adam Lind had the game-winning double in the 11th inning, scoring Rajai Davis to give the Blue Jays an epic win to start off the 2013 season. Davis came on as a pinch runner for Encarnacion, who was hit by Smith to lead off the 11th.
The Indians took an early first-inning lead when Santana's sacrifice fly scored Brantley, who had tripled earlier in the game. Lind later tied it up at 1-1 with a solo home run in the bottom of the 2nd.
In the top of the 3rd, Brantley would hit a 2-run home run to give the visitors a 3-1 lead. In the bottom of the 6th, Arencibia would double home Lind, who was hit by a pitch, to cut the deficit to 3-2.
With Bautista and Reyes on base, Lind went down swinging to end the seventh inning, keeping the score at 3-2 Cleveland. And in the bottom of the eighth, Rasmus also struck out to end the inning with Izturis and Bonifacio on the corners.
Cabrera, in the bottom of the ninth, also struck out swinging with runners at the corners, but Arencibia's sacrifice fly scored Bautista to tie the game at 3-3, and send it into extra innings.
Delabar walked two Indians in the tenth inning in to load the bases while only recording two outs, but Santos struck out Stubbs in a ten-pitch at-bat to end the threat.
