Don't Understand This
I'm playing with scouting and coaching fully utilized. I had a guy in the rookie league hit over .300 and lead the league in homers. My hitting cosch in rookie league is rated outstanding at both handling rookies and teaching hitting. Then, in December, the players current rating fell from 35 to 24, and his potential fell from 45 to 35. What gives?
I disregarded this, promoted him to A ball, and he's currently hitting .292 with 26 homers at the end of July. Are these ratings essentially meaningless?
I have also seen guys selected as player or pitcher of the month in the majors immediately preceding a rescouting that then had their current ratind downgraded by 4-5 points, while others on the dl for extended periods had their current ratings improve.
None of this makes any sense to me! Thoughts?
