Jr Lightweight- Second Round

Manny Pacquiao 153-15-3 (139) vs Svein Erik Paulsen 13-6-2 (3)

Manny set the tone by dropping Paulsen in the opening round with a barrage of blows and he continued to hammer Paulsen until the bout was stopped in round three.

Azumah Nelson 41-2 (33) vs Johnny Bizzarro 26-12-3 (3)

Bizzarro's jab left Nelson with a swollen round after three rounds, but he used his powerful blows to open a cut over Johnny's right eye and nearly close his left before flooring him twice in round eight, the second time for the count with a vicious combo.

Alexis Arguello 78-6 (69) vs Ricardo Arredondo 14-7 (10)

Alexis used his pinpoint combinations to carve up the Mexicans face before dropping him with a right hand in round eight and forcing the stoppage moments later with three brutal uppercuts that left Arredondo out on his feet.

Ben Villaflor 20-0 (7) vs Argenis Mendez 14-5-2 (11)

The top seeds continued to dominate as Villaflor used his speed and combination punching to out-point his largely defensive foe with a clear UD. 98-92, 98-93 & 97-93

Sandy Saddler 61-4-1 (50) vs Rocky Juarez 24-16-4 (12)

Juarez' iron chin kept him standing, with the exception of a knock down off of a body shot in round nine, and he kept it competitive with hard counter hooks but Sandy was in control throughout and won the wide UD. 99-91 x2 & 98-92

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. 95-3-2 (54) vs Carlos Gerena 10-10-1 (4)

Floyd did anything he wanted to Gerena and after flooring him late in round five with an uppercut he unloaded early in the sixth with both hands to force the ref's hand.

Edwin Valero 36-4 (27) vs Carlos Hernandez 14-6-1 (6)

Valero had a huge opening round and his powerful left hands had Carlos' right eye already swelling after three minutes. Hernandez smothered his rivals power and got things going, including a huge fifth round where he hurt Edwin twice with right hands. Valero bounced back in the sixth with crushing left hands, but Hernandez continued to forge forward and despite suffering a nasty gash over his right eye in round eight he managed to escape with the upset, and controversial, SD. 95-94 x2 & 94-95

Julio Cesar Chavez 71-6-3 (51) vs Daniel Attah 4-17 (1)

Attah put forth a game effort, but JCC broke him down to the body and finished him with three knockdowns in round eight for the automatic stoppage.
